THEMED ENTERTAINMENT
This video is showcasing three themed entertainment venues that I have personally modeled in full 3D prior to them being built to assist in the design and construction. These comparisons can give you a good idea of how accurate 3D modeling can be, and how much help it is to be able to visualize the finish product before it is constructed.
MINION PARK - USJ - OSAKA, JAPAN
GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS - PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee USA
MONKEY KING - GUANJO, CHINA
POWER OF NATURE - WANDA MOVIE PARK - WUHAN, CHINA
In January 2013 I began work at ITEC Entertainment on two major turn-key attractions for Wanda Corporation’s Movie Park in Wuhan China. The park was a massive single building with several floors designed by Stufish Architects Inc. Each floor had a number of attractions and ITEC partnered with Forrec was awarded the two main attractions on the top floor; “Ultimate Energy” a live action stunt show with a major 3D projection screen element in the same vein as Universal Studios’ “T2 3D: Battle Across Time” and “Power of Nature” a simulation ride which also utilized 3D front projection as well as a number of practical effects. The motion base and practical effects were designed by Simtec, but I personally designed the shell of the ride vehicle with some help from David Morris who was working at Forrec at the time. I was also responsible for the base design of the entire queue, some of which can be seen in the images below. I worked closely with the Interior Designers and Architects to ensure that my renders were as close as possible to what the finished space would look like.
